How to Clean your Mug

Best Practices

If you want your pottery piece to last the longest amount of time, hand washing is the best way to go.

Use a mild soap and gently scrub with a sponge or a water bottle cleaner. Dry upside down at an angle to allow excess water to drip out.

Be sure to gently scrub the outside bottom of the mug where the exposed clay is. That is where any staining will most occur.

Fast Practices

Stick it in the dishwasher on the top shelf and boom you're done.

Convenience comes with a consequence and the consequence in this case is that it may degrade your pottery piece faster over time.

This is not the recommended way, but in all honesty I stick my pieces in the dishwater and it seems to be fine. How long till it shows signs of wear? Sooner than hand washing.
